Veterans’ House Canada (VHC) has announced a $25,000 sponsorship from Lockheed Martin Canada to fund the Private Therapy and Meeting Room at its soon-to-open Edmonton home. Slated for completion in the winter of 2026, this facility represents more than just shelter—it’s about restoring dignity, community, and opportunity for those who once served.

“We are deeply grateful for your generous $25,000 sponsorship of the Private Therapy and Meeting Room at our Edmonton home. Your commitment to supporting Veterans and military communities across Canada is truly inspiring. This contribution will help create a safe and healing space for those who have served, and we are proud to partner with an organization that shares our dedication to honoring and uplifting our Veterans,” expressed Angella Rawsthorne, VHC Fund Development Manager.

Lockheed Martin Canada, a major player in aerospace and defence, is backing this initiative with a commitment that goes beyond technology and national security. With over 1,000 Canadian employees spread across five facilities nationwide, the company is recognized not only for advancing aerospace innovation and bolstering Canada’s defence priorities but also for investing in the communities where it operates.

Through donations, fundraising, and volunteerism, Lockheed Martin has consistently demonstrated its support for military and Veteran causes. The Edmonton project stands out as a tangible continuation of that commitment. By sponsoring the therapy and meeting space, the company is helping to ensure that Veterans will have access to private, supportive environments where they can focus on healing and rebuilding their lives.

“As a proud defence partner to Canada and to nations worldwide, one in five of our employees globally is a Veteran, reservist or military spouse. Military and Veteran support is deeply ingrained in our values in Canada and around the world, and we are honoured to work with Veterans’ House Canada in creating lasting impact and support for this community,” stated Kristen Leroux, Vice President and Regional Executive, Canada and Latin America, Lockheed Martin.

The need could not be more pressing. Across Canada, Veterans are disproportionately represented in the homeless population—a stark reminder that service to country can come at a personal cost. For many, the path to stability is obstructed by barriers that make housing, employment, and mental health support difficult to secure. The Edmonton home, with its specialized spaces and services, is designed to help break those barriers down.

This partnership is more than philanthropy—it’s an act of solidarity. Lockheed Martin’s support reflects a deeper understanding that national defence doesn’t end when uniforms are hung up. The company’s sponsorship underscores a vital truth: supporting Veterans is about investing in people who have already invested in Canada’s safety and future.

As construction continues, anticipation grows. When the doors open in 2026, that Private Therapy and Meeting Room will stand as both a symbol and a sanctuary—made possible through the shared vision of Veterans’ House Canada and Lockheed Martin Canada.
