Seasapan has appointed a long-time British Columbia marine shipping industry professional as its new vice-president for marine operations in Vancouver.
Paul Hilder, a member of Seaspan’s senior leadership team, will be accountable for overseeing the operational efficiency and safety of all vessels and marine crews as the company’s marine operations vice-president.
Hilder has an extensive experience in the marine industry.
A graduate of the Pacific Marine Training Institute of the British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT), Hilder began his career as a habour fleet dispatcher for Seaspan back in 2003.
In 2005, he became operations manager of Seabridge but returned to Seaspan in 2008 to become the company’s project supervisor of vessel operations.
Hilder transferred once more to Seabridge, this time taking a position in the firm’s chartering and operations department. And February 2016, saw his return to Seaspan.
“Paul has over 30 years’ experience in marine operations and is an invaluable part of the team,” said Bart Reynolds, president of Seaspan Marine. “I’m very happy he’s back in the Seaspan fold and look forward to working with him to ensure the continuous improvement of the safety and efficiency of the company.”
