Hanwha will showcase its advanced defence solutions at CANSEC reinforcing its commitment to Canada’s security and sovereign defence. Under the theme “Defending Canada’s Future – Above, Below, and Beyond,” Hanwha will present cutting-edge maritime and land defence systems tailored to Canada’s needs, fostering long-term strategic ties with South Korea.

“Hanwha is deeply committed to Canada’s defence, offering our unique proposition of global leading technology, value, and sovereign capacity with local production and support” said Michael Coulter, CEO of Hanwha Global Defence. “Our ‘Made with Canada, For Canada’ approach builds a robust, long-term partnership to create jobs, accelerate defence capabilities, and enhance vital Canada-South Korea cooperation, aligning with Canada’s Global vision and Indo-Pacific Strategy.”

Key offerings include the KSS-III Submarine for the Canadian Patrol Submarine Project, designed for extended submerged endurance and Arctic operations. If awarded in 2026, Hanwha proposes an initial batch delivery by 2032, with the remainder by 2035. A local In-Service Support (ISS) center will ensure 30-plus years of maintenance and technology transfer, strengthening Canada’s defence industry.

Hanwha will also highlight its K9 Self-Propelled Howitzer, a combat-proven 155mm/52-calibre system used by six NATO nations. The K9 Mobile Howitzer offers high-speed mobility across diverse terrains, while the K10 Armored Ammunition Resupply Vehicle ensures efficient firepower support. The Chunmoo MRLS adds versatile guided missile capabilities, enhancing Canada’s maritime defence.
