His Majesty’s Canadian Ship (HMCS) William Hall departed from Halifax, Nova Scotia on May 14, 2025, to support Operation CARIBBE, Canada’s role in the U.S.-led enhanced counter-narcotics efforts under the Joint Interagency Task Force South.
Operation CARIBBE targets illicit drug trafficking in the Caribbean, with the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) providing naval and air support. In collaboration with international partners, CAF works to disrupt narcotics flow and strengthen security across North America, the Caribbean, and South America. This operation reflects Canada’s dedication to combating trafficking and promoting regional stability.
HMCS William Hall’s deployment builds on the success of HMCS Harry DeWolf, which helped the U.S. Coast Guard seize 750 kilograms of cocaine in the Caribbean on March 1, 2025. Supported by Colombian air and maritime assets, the operation showcased strong cooperation between the Royal Canadian Navy, the USCG, and regional partners.
