The lines between the defence and security and oil and gas industries blur in the Canadian multi-platform conference called ConvergX 2016 which will be held in Calgary from February 9th to the 11th next year.

The event will provide a forum for peer-to-peer networking and interaction and enable companies to learn from each other, enhance current business practices and create new business opportunities.

Launched by WAVV Enhanced Business Development, the conference will be held at the Westin Calgary.

The event’s content and themes as well as it award nominations will be determined by a steering committee made up of members from the defence procurement and energy industries. Event partners include Promotive Communications, publisher of Vanguard Magazine and FMJ Solutions. Aerospace giant Lockheed Martin is a founding sponsor.

“The recent defence procurement changes by the government mandate prime contractors to invest in Canadian technology, research and organizations,” said Louise Mercier, president of FMJ Solutions. “This will offer millions of dollars in offsets that both industries can develop and benefit from.”

Organizers are touting the event as the first of its kind in the world as a place “where industry lines disappear.”

“Response to this event has been phenomenal and we have been overwhelmed with advance registration requests, said Kimberly Van Vliet, president of WAVV.”…We are expecting a sold out show of over 200 attendees and we have secured a first class speaker lineup.”
