One company in the running for the Canadian Army’s Medium Support Vehicle System-Standard Military Pattern program recently won a major Scandinavian deal.
Last month, Germany’s Rheinmetall MAN Military Vehicles was selected by both Norway and Sweden to supply their heavy utility vehicles. The selection means both countries’ procurement agencies are now negotiating with RMMV and in the hopes of inking contracts before the end of 2013. In July, RMMV won a stiff Australian competition to provide 2,500 protected and non-protected logistics vehicles, and was selected for the New Zealand program.
RMMV is one of a half dozen companies expected to respond to a revised Canadian request for proposal re-issued by Public Works and Government Services on July 23 and slated to close on December 17.
