The Quebec division of defence dynamo Meggitt Training Systems has been awarded a $25 million contract from Public Works Government Services Canada.

The contract will last for three years. During that time, Meggitt will provide the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) with in-service support for their Small Arms Trainer (SAT) and Indirect Fire Trainer (IFT)

The SAT simulator system provides individual and group preparation for military, paramilitary and security forces. The IFT, meanwhile, hones soldiers’ forward observer, fire direction center and mortar crew skills.

“Meggitt has been a proud supplier of weapon simulation to the Canadian Armed Forces for more than 20 years,” said Andrea Czop, president of Meggitt Training Systems (Quebec), Inc. “We remain a committed partner supporting the operational readiness of Canada’s soldiers, sailors and airmen with advanced simulation and training systems.”

In addition to support for their products, Meggitt will extend the same backing to training activities, health services, and usage and equipment monitoring across Canada’s major military bases.
