Alenia Aermacchi announced on Monday that it has selected Montreal-based Esterline CMC Electronics (CMC) to provide the flight management system for its global C-27J Spartan fleet.
The decison also means that CMC, which last fall joined the team bidding the C-27J for Canada’s fixed-wing search and rescue program, will provide the FMS for the Canadian version.
Alena selected CMC for what is being called Team Spartan in September to provide its TacView Portable Mission Display and SureSight Enhanced Vision System sensor for Canada program.
CMC’s flight management system is certified for use on commercial and military aircraft and is part of the Royal Canadian Air Force’s A310 Polaris fleet upgrade.
