In a strategic move, CAE Inc. unveiled a lineup shuffle within its leadership team on April 4, 2024. The aerospace and defense training company announced that Jason Goodfriend assumes the position of Interim Group President, Defence & Security, stepping into the shoes of Daniel Gelston, who will continue in a supportive role until May 2024.

With gratitude and appreciation, CAE acknowledged Gelston’s invaluable contributions to the company’s vision and achievements. Goodfriend, headquartered in Chantilly, Virginia, joined the CAE family in January 2023 as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) for the Defense & Security sector. His appointment as Interim Group President comes as a natural progression, underlining CAE’s commitment to fostering internal talent.

Goodfriend’s professional journey spans over two decades, blending rich experiences from both public and private sectors. His tenure at defence entities like BAE Systems Inc. and Akima, LLC, underscore his prowess in organizational leadership and profit and loss management. Notably, his background as a distinguished U.S. Army veteran offers a unique perspective into the needs and nuances of defence clientele.

As CAE embarks on this transitional phase, the quest for a permanent Group President is already underway. The search, characterized by a stringent vetting process, aims to unearth individuals with a stellar track record in defense execution. This pivotal role is envisioned to propel and expedite CAE’s transformation within the Defense & Security domain.

In addition to Goodfriend’s elevation, CAE introduces Srini Dixit as the new Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Defense & Security. Dixit brings a wealth of experience to the table, boasting a robust background in structural engineering and international business management. His previous stints at RTX Corporation and Lockheed Martin Corporation demonstrate a knack for navigating complex financial landscapes within the defense industry.

The infusion of fresh perspectives and seasoned expertise underscores CAE’s unwavering commitment to excellence and innovation. These strategic appointments signify a forward-looking approach, poised to redefine the company’s footprint in the ever-evolving defence sector. As CAE charts a course towards future endeavors, the stage is set for a new era of transformative leadership and operational excellence.
