Montreal-based CAE has won a series of contracts valued at more than C$140 million to provide training systems and services for the U.S. Navy, Polish Air Force and German Air Force.

The first involves an order from Boeing for simulator hardware for six P-8A Poseidon operational flight trainers and five P-8A Aircraft equipment Desktop Environment trainers. CAE was previously awarded contracts from Boeing to design and manufacture hardware for ten P-8A OFTs and 17 P-8A AeDTE trainers. The Poseidon is a long-range anti-submarine and anti-surface warfare aircraft currently being developed for the U.S. Navy, which plans to acquire 117 P-8A aircraft to replace its current fleet of P-3C Orion aircraft.

The second contract involves the provision of an SW-4 helicopter full-flight simulator to support training at the Polish Air Force School in Deblin, Poland. The SW-4, developed in Poland by PZL-Swidnik, an AgustaWestland company, is a multi-role light utility helicopter used by the air force for advanced pilot training and other utility missions. The CAE 3000 Series SW-4 full-flight simulator will be delivered in 2016 and used to support the Polish Air Force’s modernized training program for air force cadets.

The third deal is with Germany’s Federal Office of Bundeswehr Equipment, Information Technology and In-Service Support, which has contracted CAE for a range of on-site training support services for flight simulation equipment, include simulators for the Tornado, C-160 Transall, P-3C Orion, Mk-41 Sea King and the German Forces’ pilot selection system.

CAE also inked an agreement with PWN Excellence Sdn Bhd (PWN), based in Subang, Malaysia, to provide comprehensive lifecycle support and maintenance services on its AgustaWestland 139 simulator over the next ten years.
