BluMetric Environmental Inc., a leading engineering WaterTech and environmental consulting firm, has officially received the green light to begin production on its Mission Ready Water systems, as part of a previously announced contract with Rheinmetall Canada to support the Canadian Armed Forces.

Under the $12.2 million contract, BluMetric will manufacture 26 self-contained water treatment units, along with associated miscellaneous equipment units and a portion of cold-weather ancillary packages. These units will be produced at BluMetric’s facility in Carp, Ontario, with delivery expected within the next 18 months.

“Our team is thrilled to advance to this crucial stage of production and see the Canadian military’s commitment to our Mission Ready Water solutions,” said Scott MacFabe, Chair & CEO of BluMetric. “This notice to proceed is a testament to our ability to deliver on a high-quality and robust system that meets the highly demanding needs of a military organization. We look forward to executing this contract while further strengthening our military partnerships worldwide.”

The notice to proceed comes after the successful completion of extensive testing on the first production unit, which was put through its paces with both road and cross-country tests at the 5th Canadian Division Support Base (5 CDSB) Gagetown in New Brunswick. The unit also passed rigorous water challenge tests that examined its resistance to biofouling, hardness, bacteria, viruses, and both organic and inorganic contaminants.

The system, officially named the Advanced Sub-Unit Water Purification System (ASUWPS), is a refined version of BluMetric’s established Reverse Osmosis Water Purification Unit (ROWPU) and Shipboard Reverse Osmosis Desalination (SROD) designs. These systems have been in use by the Canadian Armed Forces for over a decade, proving their long-term reliability and operational efficiency in demanding environments.

There is also the potential for further units to be authorized under the Rheinmetall contract. Since the original announcement on May 23, 2023, BluMetric has seen the inclusion of three additional packages of cold-weather ancillary equipment, further expanding the scope of the project.

In a separate but related announcement, BluMetric’s Board has approved the granting of 402,000 common share options to the Company’s Directors and Employees. These options, which were granted on February 26, 2025, will vest over two years and can be exercised at a price of $0.99 per share for a period of seven years.

BluMetric continues to lead in delivering critical environmental and water treatment solutions, demonstrating its commitment to innovation and excellence in supporting the Canadian Armed Forces.
