The sole suspects to have been arrested so far in connection with the deadly bombing attacks in Brussels was released today by authorities for lack of evidence.
This development came as the death toll in the March 22nd attacks at Zaventem airport and Maelbeek Metro station climbed to 35 Monday as four other injured victims succumbed to their injuries.
The man, who has been identified by police and local media reports as Faycal Cheffou (man in the hat), actually calls himself an independent journalist. He posts video news clips on YouTube.

On the day of the bombings, a close circuit TV camera at Zavanteen caught a video of him together with suspects, Ibrahim el-Bakraoui and Najiim Laachraoui. Ibrahim and Najiim both died when they detonated their respective bombs.

A third unexploded bomb was found in the airport leading authorities to surmise that another suspect may be at large.
Cheffou was arrested last Thursday but today, Belgium’s federal prosecutor said that “Faycal C” had been released due to lack of evidence.
A report from American broadcast station NBC also said the prosecutor announced three people have been charged with taking part in a terror group. Authorities did not say is the suspects, identified only as Yassine A., Mohammed B., and Aboubaker O., had any connections to a specific plot.
