Select Global awarded CF1-8 training contract

Laval-based Sélect Global International has been awarded a $19.6 million contract for CF-18 pilot training and simulator operation services. The government confirmed the deal in two separate announcements in Bagotville, QC and Cold Lake, AB last week.

The five-year contract is being awarded through the Advanced Distributed Combat Training System and includes options to extend the deal for an additional 10 years.

The Advanced Distributed Combat Training System has allowed CF-18 pilots to training on the recently modernized aircraft and upgraded weapons systems in a simulated environment, reducing airframe-fatigue and overall operating costs for the fleet. The RCAF says the system provides a level of training in a virtual environment that was previously only possible through actual combat, and has increased the pilots’ operational readiness as a result.
