QinetiQ announced earlier today the appointment of Robert Aubé as Managing Director of its Canadian operations.
Headquartered in the UK, QinetiQ, a leading science, and engineering company, operating primarily in the defence, security and aerospace markets, is looking to expand its reach in Canada with the appointment of Aubé. In his previous job as VP – Engineering and Operations at Kongsberg Geospatial, Aubé was responsible for business development, strategic planning, and delivery. Based on his previous experience, he is looking to grow QinetiQ’s position in Canada through defence advisory services, program management, integrated logistics, assurance, test and evaluation services across air, maritime, land, weapons, cyber and training domains.
“This is a truly exciting time for QinetiQ and I am committed to growing its presence in Canada with a Canadian workforce, delivering solutions to the Canadian market challenges,” he said.
QinetiQ Canada is located in Ottawa and runs part of its global QinetiQ Target Systems business from Medicine Hat, Alberta. At this location, the company has over 50 staff members that assist with the design and production of a range of threat representation targets and special mission platforms that include the Banshee, Mosquito, Hammerhead and Barracuda drones.
“The expansion of our Canadian team further demonstrates QinetiQ’s commitment to Canada and willingness to invest in a growing defence and security market,” said Iain Farley, QinetiQ Managing Director for International. “Robert’s passion in technology, innovation and his desire to establish genuine, open and honest partnerships with his customers directly correlate to our values, so I am thrilled to have Robert on board.”
