The Oil and Gas and Defence sectors are both well-known for developing cutting-edge technology in order to solve complex problems. Putting execs from each industry in one place to share their knowledge seems like a no-brainer, which is why it’s quite surprising that an event like ConvergX has never been hosted before. A recent press release (below), bills the event as “the first of its kind in the world”. Those interested should check out the link below. The event runs from February 9-11, 2016 at the Westin Calgary.
Calgary, Alberta Oct 26th, 2015 — Canada’s first-ever Canadian multi-platform event for the Defence and Security as well as the Oil and Gas industries has announced that pre-registration is now available. http://convergx.co/registration
This event, the first of its kind in the world, is being touted as a place “where industry lines disappear.” ConvergX™ will offer an opportunity for both industries to share innovative practices related to technology. Launched by WāVv, the inaugural ConvergX™ conference is taking place from February 9-11, 2016 at the Westin Calgary.
“Response to this event has been phenomenal and we have been overwhelmed with advance registration requests. We are quite pleased to now have our pre-registration site up so that we can accommodate requests in a convenient format,” said WāVv President Kimberley Van Vliet. “We are anticipating a sold out show of over three hundred attendees and we have secured a first-class speaker line-up. We will be releasing further details on our speakers and awards program shortly.”
The event will provide a powerful forum for peer-to-peer networking and interaction. ConvergX™ will be an opportunity for companies to learn from each other, enhance their current business practices and create new business opportunities. There will also be an award component to recognize the best innovation and performance within these dynamic industries.
Organizers anticipate strong vendor support and have already secured Lockheed Martin as a major sponsor.
“The recent defence procurement changes by the government mandate prime contractors invest in Canadian technology, research and organizations,” said Louise Mercier, President of FMJ Solutions. “This will offer millions of dollars in offsets that both industries can develop and benefit from.”
The event’s content and themes, as well as its awards, are being carefully selected by a steering committee comprised of members from both industries. Event partners for ConvergX™ also include Promotive Communications as well as FMJ solutions.
