Lockheed Martin Canada recently selected L3Harris Technologies to provide the Integrated Communications System for the Royal Canadian Navy’s (RCN) Canadian Surface Combatant (CSC) project. This initiative is designed to enhance operational effectiveness and maritime security.
The CSC program, led by Irving Shipbuilding Inc., along with Lockheed Martin Canada and a consortium of partners, stands as a testament to innovation and rejuvenation in Canada’s shipbuilding industry. Under the National Shipbuilding Strategy (NSS), Irving Shipbuilding spearheads construction efforts while Lockheed Martin Canada oversees design, working closely with L3Harris to integrate advanced systems within Canada.

This contract marks a significant achievement for Canada’s defense sector, heralding prospects for market growth and international export potential. The first three vessels out of a planned 15 are expected to be delivered starting in 2027, indicating promising advancements on the horizon.
