L-3 MAS renews contract to support CC-150 Airbus Fleet

The federal government has awarded Montreal-based L-3 MAS and its partner Avianor a multi-year in-service support contract for the Royal Canadian Air Force CC-150 Polaris Airbus fleet.

The agreement runs to 2018, with the option for two additional five-year contracts, and has a potential value of $683 million. It follows an interim ISS contract that was awarded in June 2012.

L-3 MAS said the work would be conducted at Avianor’s operating base in Trenton and at both of their facilities in Mirabel.

“We understand the strategic importance of the CC-150 fleet’s missions and are honored to again be selected by the Canadian government for this program,” said Jacques Comtois, vice president and general manager of L-3 MAS. “Since the award of the Interim contract last June, the L-3 MAS team has been committed to providing DND with stable and best-value sustainment support of this operationally strategic fleet. This selection is further affirmation of
our commitment to customer focus, flawless execution and long-term partnerships as Canada’s leading military aircraft ISS provider.”

The CC-150 Polaris fleet is primarily used for VIP transportation and strategic air-to-air refuelling, as well as passenger, freight and medical evacuation transportation.
