Executive Flight Centre Joins Babcock Leonardo Canadian Aircrew Training for FAcT Program

Babcock Leonardo Canadian Aircrew Training (BLCAT) has recently announced a partnership with Executive Flight Centre (EFC) to provide aerodrome site support services for Canada’s Future Aircrew Training (FAcT) program. BLCAT and its partners will create a foundation for the next generation of military aircrew training, while supporting Canada’s economic and strategic goals.

The Canadian government will award a 25-year contract in 2023 to provide comprehensive aircrew training, called the FaCT program. The program will include aircraft, ground-based training systems, civilian instructors, as well as other essential services such as air traffic control and aircraft and airfield maintenance. Accommodation, food services and more will be made available for the Royal Canadian Air Force.

Jana Lee Murray, FacT Program Director for BLCAT, shared her response to this welcome partnership:

“We are thrilled that Executive Flight Centre has joined the Babcock Leonardo Canadian Aircrew Training Team. Our team of global leaders provides first in class military aircrew training that is delivered locally by leading strategic Canadian partners with operations from coast-to-coast.”

EFC has been a staple in the Canadian aviation services industry, with their history spanning over 75 years. Fuelling, ground handling, and aerodrome management are the company’s key focuses. A few of EFC’s clients include Flair Air, Lynx Air, and Canadian North. Currently operating in eight airports and three aerodromes, EFC’s main headquarters is situated in Calgary, Alberta, with a pool of 475 employees. EFC also works to recruit, develop, accommodate, and promote those from visible minorities, women, people with disabilities, and Indigenous peoples.

“EFC is tremendously proud and excited to be selected as a strategic partner of the Babcock Leonardo Canadian Aircrew Training team,” said Ryan Albizzati, Chief Operating Officer at EFC Aviation. “The FAcT program is an integral component of the RCAF, and we are prepared to provide best-in-class services for this operation. EFC’s chairman and majority shareholder, Ken Lett, is a Second World War RCAF veteran who flew Spitfires in combat, including the invasion of Normandy. It would be an amazing accomplishment for EFC to participate in the FAcT program and to continue Ken’s legacy and contribution to the RCAF.”
