Bluedrop to evaluate RCN training system

St. John’s-based Bluedrop Performance Learning has been awarded contracts by the Royal Canadian Navy to provide strategic learning advisory services and online learning packages.

“These contracts are indicative of a transformation underway in navy training,” said Bluedrop vice-president Carl Daniels in a news release.

With the RCN looking to take further advantage of simulation and increase e-learning, Bluedrop will conduct analysis of the naval training system and make recommendations around the adoption of new technology and infrastructure.

For the navy learning support centre, Bluedrop is providing online courses for the fleet diving unit and Canadian Forces Naval Engineering School to be delivered on the defence learning network. Ship team divers, supervisors and marine engineering technicians will use the online courseware.

Bluedrop has six offices in Canada and the United States and almost 200 employees.
