The DAIR Downsview Restoration Project

The historic home of the de Havilland Aircraft of Canada Ltd., at the Downsview Park in North York Toronto, is undergoing a transformation.

The 86-year-old facility where the venerable Tiger Moths planes and Mosquitos WWII bombers were built will soon become a high-tech aerospace training facility for some 900 students.

Vanguard recently interviewed Andrew Petrou, executive director of the Downsview Aerospace Cluster for Innovation and Research (DAIR), for a quick update on this $55.4 million project and what it means to aspiring aeronautics engineers.
